Even though it was a small dog it still was a dog. The small Scottie in the front of the house next door chased you. You cried and mewed for help. You just wanted to see if the new neighbors that just moved in had a cat.
Even though your master loved you dearly and spent almost all of her time with you, you longed for the company of another cat. It had been years since you had even seen another of your kind.
"Oi, Scottie!" shouted a reddish orange cat in front of you. "Leave the lass alone." The dog instantly back down. "Sorry about that lass, the dog can be a bit mean." You looked closer at your savoir. He had a Scottish accent and had blue eyes. "I'm Scotcat, who're you?"
"_-________," you responded blushing. Not only was he male, he was a handsome male. "I've never seen you around here. Are you new?"

Abandoned ChapelThe parish waits now,
the loneliness of corners
crawling outward on walls--
chipped away by the wind,
and held together
by silk spindles;
cobwebs align them like the membranes of memories,
the cut of a jewel in an broken window
against the sun
where beads of rain
gather in a mesh of strands
a new Mosaic
against the backdrop of a cemetery;
My eyes seek out the sermon
in close proximity,
paint no distance
between headstone and cloud;
elegies topple each other
in their climb to heaven
as light trickles
over the shade,
breathes a new glow over snuffed candles.
I feel the weight in these empty rows,
how a breath couldn't cease to be breath
in the midst of prayer.
